The ChakrasHave you ever wondered what is happening when you are in the presence of another? You know there’s something more, yet what goes unseen? For thousands of years, the healing systems of Eastern cultures have recognized and worked with the flow of life energy, or vital force within each person. In recent years, this fundamental aspect of our existence has been acknowledged as an important part of health and healing in the West.

How can we make the seemingly intangible world of “subtle energy” familiar and accessible? Everyone has the innate ability to perceive this vital force within themselves and in others. We can use this awareness and skill in the management of our everyday lives and relationships, and as tools of assessment and treatment in a wide range of health care and touch therapy practices.

This workshop is a practical introduction to our energetic anatomy which focuses on the chakra system, a map created more than 3000 years ago to describe the human journey of awakening. The chakras are a series of seven primary energy centers which function as a bridge between the realm of pure energy and the realms of the body, emotions and the mind or personality. Each of these centers is associated with a specific color, sound, physical function, and layer of the human energy field (the aura) which incorporates the physical body. An imbalance in the chakra system can result in emotional stress, physical pain or dysfunction, decrease in vitality or mental suffering.

Travel with Edie as your knowledgeable guide and experience the worlds within you as you study the human energy field through mythos, art, poetry, movement, lecture, discussion and hands-on exchanges. This work can facilitate increased awareness, vitality, greater emotional clarity and range of expression, an experience of personal empowerment, and an expanded sense of our connection between self, others, and the realms of the divine.
