A Free Ethics Seminar for NC Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapists
Standards of Professional Conduct:
Your Roles and Legal Responsibilities
with Rick Rosen, MA, LMBT
May 29 | Thursday, 1:30-4:30pm | 3 continuing education contact hours
This three-hour seminar will focus on the 15 rules that make up the current Standards of Professional Conduct for all North Carolina Licensees. We will review the text of these rules, decode their meaning and purpose, and discuss practical strategies for compliance with these requirements in your massage therapy practice.
In September 2005, numerous amendments to the Rules of the NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy went into effect. Based on the laws that comprise the Practice Act, the Rules of the Board specify requirements that Licensees must follow at all times. Of the new rules that were implemented, the most significant area of change was made in Section .0500, which addresses professional conduct.
The intention of this seminar is to provide you with basic information needed to carry out your professional duties in a safe and effective manner.
Pre-registration is required for this free seminar, and is taken on a space-available basis. Open to currently-licensed NC LMBT’s only; one registration per person, please. Those who took this free seminar in 2006 are not eligible to sign up. You must contact BTI by mail or phone to register. Those who attend this seminar will receive documentation of three contact hours of continuing education credit. This course meets the ethics requirements for license renewal with the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy, and for recertification with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork
