BTI Continuing Education Workshops
Sports and Performance Bodywork: A Four-System Approach
with George Kousaleos, LMT
October 2-4 | Thursday-Saturday, 9:30am-5:30pm
21 continuing education contact hours | $425
This workshop will examine the four basic styles of performance inherent in all athletic disciplines. Utilizing myofascial therapy and structural integration theories and techniques that are appropriate for each style of performance, participants will focus on training and event protocols for endurance, sprint, power, and multi-skill athletes.
Techniques for each body region -- legs, pelvis, torso, arms, & neck and head -- will be demonstrated and then exchanged by participants. Body-reading analysis and somatotyping will be presented as indicators of performance strengths and challenges.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to organize a manual therapy treatment plan for athletic performers based upon the demands of a specific sport on a specific body type at a specific point in the athlete’s development.
