BTI - Continuing Education Workshops

Ignite Your Passion for Teaching!

with Carey Elizabeth Smith

Friday, May 30 | 9:30am-5:30pm | 7 continuing education contact hours | $125

What makes a great teacher? How can we bring what we're most passionate about into our work? Explore these key questions with BTI Co-director Carey Smith in a day designed to inspire both seasoned educators – and those interested in entering the teaching profession.

Through lecture, journaling, group sharing, and somatic movement exercises, this workshop will focus on the elements of what makes teaching a fulfilling experience for both instructor and student. You'll discover how to create a life-generating practice that is nourishing, compelling and sustainable. In addition, you'll develop a statement of mission/purpose, and learn how to bring this into bodily experience.

By the end of this day, you will:

  • Have a declaration of mission and a next action step for achievement of your mission
  • Have a clear understanding of the fundamental competencies of an effective teacher
  • Be able to distinguish between the domains of education and therapy
  • Know what makes teaching a unique profession

The workshop will also include an overview of the The Spirit of Learning® Teacher Certification Program.
