Balancing the Spine A Soft-Tissue Approach
with Tom Myers, NCTMB
May 2-4 | Friday-Sunday, 9:30am-5:30pm
21 continuing education contact hours | $425 | For practitioners only

The human spine is a highly complex "segmented tentpole", combining the bony vertebrae with cartilaginous discs, a network of ligaments, and muscles that range from the tiny single-joint ones to the head-to-tail outer erectors. Long considered the domain of chiropractors and osteopaths, the spine is now revealing its secrets to the soft-tissue workers.
In this advanced workshop, we focus on the spine's three dimensions -- anterior/posterior curves in the sagittal plane, sidebends, and rotations. In each case, we examine how each spinal aberration is held, how it can be released, and how to counterbalance the spinal work so that the changes are successfully absorbed by the client. Each approach includes clear instructions and specific techniques for applying what you see to your clients.
You know techniques for the limbs and pelvis, for the abdomen and chest -- do not let the complicated spine remain a mystery that gets only generalized work. Get specific with the spine and see the balanced tensegrity of the spine spring into life, bringing your other work together in the central axis of human movement.
