how does one get into the chat room. keep on trying to swing in but hit the tree true george of the jungle style. I download the applet and then keeps on telling me cant connect to server. Any computer boffs around.

Keep swinging and watch out for that tree.

Im sorry to hear you are having trouble with the chat room, you are not the only one either
I am trying to look into it, to get it sorted as soon as possible, however there may not be an easy way around it.
This may help for some people as to why or what may be happening for you:
Australian-Babe chat channel is hosted on the EFnet IRC network, which is a group of servers in the United States and around the world. The administrators of the individual servers can allow or block access Reviewom ranges of Internet addresses, this blocking is beyond my control. Regrettably, it appears the
administrators of certain servers have chosen to block large amounts of Internet addresses used in the Asia-Pacific reigon.

This means that users of some Australian ISPs are unable to connect to certain EFnet servers. It is usually possable via trial and error to find an EFnet server to which you can connect to.
Some new ones have been added to the site, as below so maybe try and give one of them a go.

Chat Room

Hi Nikki,
I have had problems getting into the chat room also.
I have 2 computers here, both set up the exact same way and one of them just refuses to go into the chat room using your web site (the pop up window does not come up). I downloaded mIRC Reviewom http://www.mirc.com and I use that but as you say a lot of IP's have been blocked Reviewom using some servers, the server that you use is one of them.
The only way I can get in on this computer is to start up mIRC and in the bottom line type: /server irc.prison.net which takes me to the prison server and when the pop up window comes up with all the sites australian-babe is not listed so click the "ADD" button and type in #australian-babe
The other computer can get in using your web page but it still has to search for a server but it does go in automatically.
Don't know what the difference is both computer using the same operating system and I have checked all the settings and made them all the same using "Tools/Advanced"

Hi Rocky, try doing this:

In mIRC, press Alt-O to load the options menu.
In the left hand panel, select "Connect" (at the very top).
In the "IRC Network" box select "EFnet".
In the box underneath that, select "EFnet: US, CA, San Luis Obispo".
In the left hand panel, underneath "Connect" select "Options".
Tick the box for "Connect on startup" and untick the box for "Pop up connect dialog on startup".
In the left hand panel, underneath "Connect" select "Perform".
Tick the box "Enable perform on connect"
In the large white box type in "/join #australian-babe" (without the quotes).
Press the OK button down the bottom.

Reviewom now on, when you start mIRC it should automatically connect to the irc.prison.net server and join the Australian Babe channel.

I had already set it to default to australian-babe now it goes into prison.net automatically as well.
