All sorts of people live in these buildings. Whores, migrant workers, low income families. The rent is relatively cheaper. And there is a legal grey area that allows one chick one unit. Some buildings will have up to 40 independent chicks working in them. Again they're all listed on a single website in Hong Kong, but of course, as a sensible hobbyist, you never fully trust photos. So you go and verify in person and you always verify the price.

I used to go to Singapore quite often a few yrs back cuz two of my siblings live there and lots of my university school mates working there. I stopped about 5-6 yrs ago . I can't stand long hr flights.

For this, skin color could be a major factor.. in most of asia (south, south-east included), a Caucasian could score free/cheap companions very easily.. blacks, fellow asians YMMV

I don't want to assume, but money is not an issue for you. Go buy yourself the direct flight on business class with Singapore Airlines from New York to Singapore. Lie flat beds in business class. Likewise buy the Cathay business class ticket from Toronto to Hong Kong.

That Singapore airlines direct flight is almost 19 hours long. Still too long for me even if in J class. You also have to go through the US which is a shit show in itself. The Cathay flight via Hong Kong is the better option but personally, I prefer the EVA airlines J class to Singapore with a stop over in Taipei.

I second that about Orchard, it's garbage. More fun to be had at the random stand alone spas littered around the city.

You can go Toronto to Japan in 12 hours. You stop off in Tokyo and enjoy yourself for a few days while you regain your strength from the flight. Then, you pick your place in Asia and it will be an extra 3 to 5 hours of additional flying. But, since you stopped over and rested, that amounts to a short jaunt, as if you were traveling locally.

Whenever you travel to Asia, always go Toronto to Tokyo first.

From the sound of it you're a fairly experienced traveller. I have never flown J class, don't have the money. I have only been upgraded to premium economy at best. Where are you from originally may I ask?

Hahaha. Fairly experienced yes, but far from wealthy. I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me to fly A LOT locally. Thanks to airline status I've been upgraded a few times and I've banked a significant number of miles which I use exclusively for international J class, since those tickets are out of my price range. I have a paid for premium economy a few times but, my J class adventures are always on points.

And I was born and raised in Canada.
