Ortho-Bionomy

Has anyone ever took a class in this modality?  I was on Kaua'i and had a treatment from someone and she said she used cranial sacral and ortho-bionomy, while she did a rainbow wash and cleansing on me........I so needed it, I realesed a whole lot!!!!!!!!!  Energetically I clould feel the huge releases!  The treatment was so suttle yet powerful, does anyone have this kind of training?  I thought it was expensive $100.00 an hour, at her home mind you.  But I was greatful for the healing. I had to remind myself the island is expensive and people need to make a living.  I'm familiar with cranial not bionomy.  Tell me your experience.  Thanx in advance

Hi puamaeole,

I haven't experienced orthobionomy, but heard about it from a therpaist I taught with for a while.  She said it was a staple of her practice.

aloha anameke, i don't know the name exactly but it distinctly said ortho-bionomy on it.  it fell off the shelf.  its funny when i need something it seems to fall of the shelf when im in a book store.   i just glanced through ; it and was planning to pick it up another time.  im like a kid in a candy store when im at a book store, i want almost every book in certain sections....... ;D  i will let you know the name when i get it.

I luuuuuvvv Ortho-bionomy I enjoy its philospohical basis of listening to and honoring the body. I really want to do the 500 hour basic training after graduation, I just don't know when, where, or how I'll pay for it

OB is an amazing techniqe that I regularly incorporate into my massages.  Unfortunately, it is a modality that is concentrated in the Michigan/Illinois region of the US.  Check out the OB website (it has been listed above) for classes that may be given in your area.  If it does come around, jump on the opportunity and worry about how you will pay later.  You wont regret that decision.

I've been involved with Ortho-Bionomy for about a year and a half now.  It's taught all over the world including here in Texas - we have two well know instructors in San Antonirtho-Bionomy (OB) was founded by Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls after he became interested in Positional Release while in training as an osteopath.  While based in positional release it has become much more.  It is quite gentle but powerful enough for any application I've come across.The most well known book about Ortho-Bionomy shows the basic Phase 4 physical releases.  The book is titled "Ortho-Bionomy" and is authored by Kathy Kain and Jim Berns.  It is still in print and more popular than ever.I find that while OB can stand alone as a therapeutic modality, clients love it when I add OB releases into their Swedish or Deep Tissue sessions and I seldom do any NMT without OB added now.  OB does more to help joints release gently (without chiropractic) than anything I've ever seen.  That allows the muscles and even fascia release more completely.I'm about 250 hours into the 500 hour program and plan to continue with it.Ben Crabtree, RMT, CNMTSan Antonio, Texaswww.massagebyben.com
