I just did a search to see if this question has been answered, so nobody can laugh at me!! Hah!Anybody have a good secretary's day promo lined up?  What is it?  Will you set up mine too?  While we're at it, will someone call and educate the receptionist at my salon, which by the way, is for sale.  Anyone in the market for  a slightly used hair salon?  Only $65000, cheap cheap cheap, or so the owner says.  Seriously, am I too late to get something going for sec's day? thanks, mick

Hi Mick.   Ive been working on the same thing.  My target for this year is the court house in my home town since that is the major employer here.  This is my first year out of school so Im kinda new to all of this.  But Ive been working on a letter to send to each department head offering them a small disscount on gift certificates.  Ive got the letter almost done Im just stuck on the ending.  I contacted a couple offices around my area to come in on secretary's day with my chair and do chair massage for the secretaries.  I had one taker out of three, would have approached more offices if I made the time, and one hired me out.  Think if I had contacted more people with that offer.  Especially lawyer, physician, psychiatry, and tax offices

Secretary's Day, also called Administrative Professionals Day or Administrative Assistants Day or Exceptional Assistants Day, is April 27, 2005. Actually, that whole week is Professional Secretaries WeekI think the date of Secretary's Day might change slightly some years so that it always falls during a week day. Not sure, though.

I wouldn't think that it is too late to do a promo for AP day.  A lot of people (bosses, workers, ect.) wait till last minute or forget till last minute to do anything.  As for ideas, you could target any office professionals that you personally deal with and offer them a discount.  Bank Tellers, Dr. Office Staff, ect.  It would probably be a pleasant surprise.

Thanks for the information, all.Pete, I think she's right on about "snipping" since she asked us to overlook the errors.  Where is spell check, anyway?  Seems to be everything else! ??? :-/I think I'll send a letter, and offer a pretty huge discount, like half an hour for 15 or 20 bucks, and also offer to do free chair during the week for a couple hours.  Package deal, you see.  Send the letter and follow up with a phone call.   8)Keep the idears a-comin, thankee

Most larger offices do their budget and plan their event in late February or early March.They usually have a committee, everyone has to come up with one idea and a budget, then they see how much money they are willing to spend.Most choose some lame lunch, which ends up costing more than a chair massage session.Even companies that do massage and love it, change the next year in order to do something different. Why stick with something people love when you can try something they might not like as much?

Another option is to approach a local florist and/or independent, specialty shop (candy, etc.) and see if you can leave some GCs with them. I suppose the same could be done for mother's day and other 'Hallmark' days as well as more traditional holidays.

I have mixed opinions on the initial poster's thread. On the one hand, I would do as she asks and overlook her errors. Then again, if she's giving us a look at what she's presenting to prospective clientele and there happen to be some spelling/grammatical errors, wouldn't it behoove her to help her out and make sure she presents a quality presentation? After all, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.hmmm....not sure how I'd handle it. maybe I'd simply just email her and suggest she check her spelling...only wanting to help/not hinder  Be well,Jen

I did the same thing as Kneadedmassage did - my mind switched the words around and I thought she had written ". . .please look for any errors." So, I also thought she was asking for help. I didn't respond because it looked like Kneadedmassage already found and corrected all the errors.

Thank you for your appologie KM.  As far as my spelling erros and sending things out to clients because I have dyslexia I have a very good friend (who is an enlish teacher   ) over look everything for me before I ever send it out.  Needless to say he gets plently of massage work! lol
