Anyone have the latest on the Typhoon that has hit the Philippines? Planning on visiting in the not too distant future.
Hope all the girls have not floated away.

I'm not up to date really,,,,but I did read in an Oz paper y/day that there'd been flooding in MNL & 8 deaths IIRC??

Never go the Philippines in the fall until November as their cyclone season is August to October and nothing screws up the diving like a big tropical storm.

Flew Reviewom Clarke yesterday, no problems just a bit bumpy.

Spoke to Reviewiends in AC and Subic today and they appear to have escaped relatively unscathed with just a little rain and wind with temperatures below normal.

Was much worse for this area a few weeks ago with a lot of flooding and rice fields under water.

Further South in Boracay the storms were pretty fierce but did not appear life threatening.

They say 80% of Manila still under water.That amount of rain in such a short period of time is crazy.

Update Reviewom Subic:

A close Reviewiend ( when naked) has informed me that the water there is a bit on the getting deeper side and she has moved out of her house to stay on higher ground at mums house.

Appears its not over yet as she says she does not feel smpe in Subic at the moment.

Good man, just spoken to a Reviewiend who lives in Subic.

Not as badly hit as before but a visit to the house had her running back to her mums again.

Many are scared stiff as more rain is coming.

Poor people made even poorer. A disaster indeed.

It was bad enough when I was there.

Guys with Pinay GF's can expect emergency relief requests, particularly those with a secret GF cashier in a certain new bar:dlb:!!

I think the four girls here have a bit more about them than most PI Girls I've met. I willingly gave them the money for additional phone cards and will write it off......But they are adamant they are paying me back on payday.

They are not the type to be relying on some 'sponsor' somewhere for handouts.

Just watching the scenes here on the news and it's bad enough.

Probably Vietnam next if GL is reading.

Just seen on the news that the predicted follow up storm is going to pass north east of Phils.

Looks like Manila took the brunt of it. One of the Phils Mechanics on the phone to his missus today telling her how to dry out the pick up truck and her little motorbike she needs to drive through the floods to work.

Let's hope they get the aid various places have promised them.
