Asking for tips prior to get menu

Hello,

I know some people feel annoyed when the attendant asks for tips prior to get menu, but most of the time it happens because you are new to the spa or the attendant wants to make sure you have enough funds to cover menu wanted.

I went to this place and while waiting for my attendant, I heard someone (attendant) screaming and then hear stuff falling on the ground. Then I heard the voice of a man leaving.

I went out of my room and asked what happened and if they need me to call the P; one of the attendants tells me a customer requested 1 hr massage and then requested a HE, but will pay after. The attendant agreed and when it was over the guy decided the 1hr massage fee ($60) included the tip.

The attendant got upset and asked for tips and reminded the customer the massage fee was not for her to keep and then the customer throw $10 to the floor and when he was leaving the attendant threw the oil bottle and other stuff at him shouting to him never to come back.

It was a really stressful moment and the attendant felt really bad for what just had happened to her, I think she was honest because I could se how she wanted to cry out of helplessness.

No need to be rude and disrespect a person that is doing something for you.

That happened to me once too. Half way into my session, I heard commotion in the hallway and it was the exact same scenario. There are some real low-life losers out there...

Personally, I also don't like when girls bring up tips but I can certainly understand why they do it. I think the best approach (if the customer is new to them) is to just mention that extras will cost extra but don't get into specific amounts. This may be the happy medium.

I do not mind discussing the tip ahead of time, in fact I always do it so there is no confusion. I will usually walk out if she demands the tip up front or if she wants me to pay the room fee before she will discuss the tip.

depends on which spa, the girl only gets up to $10 out of the $40 door fee. I personally like to know how much tips the girl charges before doing extra since prices may vary. Some pork chop once asked me $120. I told her to go f*ck herself.

I have no issue, business before pleasure....even when pleasure is your business. Especially first time.....

the only concern I think is the MPA going to scam me. I had that once down by Wellesley and Yonge. I don't think she lasted in the industry for long as words get around quickly.

It also depends on the type of spa. If it's a holistic spa, then I agree that discussing and agreeing on the tip upfront makes sense.

But sometimes with semi-legits where it's lower mileage, you don't know what you'll get and that's part of the fun and excitement. So I usually tip according to what I get.
