Bar Idem is a Tico bar that consist of a bar, a sitting area, 15 to 20 ladies sitting in a row of chairs against the wall waiting to provide massages and companionship to men. The upstairs has several private rooms for massages and separate public restrooms and showers. There is also one larger room downstair with a private shower that cost a little more than the rooms upstairs.

The best time to go there is probably after 6:30PM as all the ladies working that evening should be there by then. There is usually a good selection of ladies working here and the price is fix so there's no need to negotiate the price with the ladies. You do however need to speak with the lady of your choice to inquire as to what type of services she is or is not willing to provide. Roberto is the manager of this establishment and he does speak English if you should need his recommendation on certain ladies with certain special talents that you seek.

I have had some good sessions at this establishment and have no complaint so far.

I wasn't sure whether this place should be posted under bars or MP's, since it is a little of both. They have some truly lovely ladies at this place and is definitely worth checking out. Personally I like going here in the late afternoon or early evening (from 5-7PM) and mixing it in afterwards with a visit to the Tin Jo restaurant which is across the street. If you are taking a cab and want to avoid the potential commission hassle you can use Tin Jo as a destination. I just walk there as it is just a few blocks straight down the hill from the DR. This bar has a very different personality from the BM. It is much more laidback (which is why a bar like the BM is better for your later evening activities- plus IDEM closes early). You'll get a lot of eye-contact but not the aggressive groping and propositioning that you get at the BM. This can be a good thing if you prefer to make your selection in an unhurried way without being pressured. The girls are almost all very lovely, but if you need help in deciding Roberto will advise and either he knows how to pick them or the girls work harder when they know he recommended them. One complaint, I have is like many MP's in SJO the rooms upstairs can get hot. I saw one post the suggested the downstairs room might be a little cooler.

I'd suggest getting there @ 3:15 and watch what comes in for the next 45 min - 1hour, then make your pick!!! hit one, come back down stairs and pick another!!!!.............GoT

IMHO the downstairs rooms are well worth the price. Last trip I tried both and downstairs is both a little more private and a little more comfortable.

I agree with Gardianoftruth - but then I like to drink and relax with a drink or two before I go to the room with a girl anyway but....I like to watch them come in and take my time. I also like to be the first with a girl for that night (not that it means they weren't out during the afternoon with a guy they met the night before, but then it is a mind trip, isn't it).

Frankly I think the quality of the women is better than the New Fantasy - but then I tend to be like Mexpat in liking thin young women. No real knock on NF 'cause I like them as well but will stick to going there in the AM before Idem is open.

I think it is 17,000 colones for the upstair rooms and 19,000 for the downstair one for one hour. I'm pretty sure there's no half-hour session here.

One bad thing about the place is the awful matresses, Roberto should replace them, they have been overused.

The girls are great though and it's well worth the 17,000. ($42) I hooked up with Jennifer Thursday and Friday, she was not there Saturday, I was not sure when she was coming in so I grabbed another girl.

Yo Bros. just a quick note to tell you of new pickings at Idem. Alexandra (19yo hard body) has been noted on this and other boards but, her sister Gabriana is now working there (started work there on Aug 17th). They damn near look like twins. Gabby is 18yo, no Babi*s, too tight for 2 fingers. only down side was no dfk, cbj. great massage, attitude, multiple posits, and one super clean, sweet pu*sy to eat. loves to be licked.
