Since that’s arguably even more selfish and disrespectful given their sacred and holy commitments, as well as way more prevalent on this particular board than gays, don’t you think it would be more productive to join forces with Whitesnake and try to get all the heterosexual men around here to repent for their sins?

Overall I think that would be a way more successful strategy to proselytize all your personal beliefs, given that the majority of members don't really care what is going on in Costa Rica.

I have never known anyone personally that was gay, just one or 2 people that I knew or heard about. Now that I think about it more, there was another guy I used to know at work, not personally, but someone told was me he was gay. I found out it was true, because when I was at Walmart, one day, I saw him walking down an aisle pushing a shopping cart, and the same time he was walking inseparably, almost literally hand in hand with another guy, as if that other guy was a girl. It looked so pathetic and so unorthodoxed, that I almost started laughing out loud. I had to work hard to control myself from busting out. It was so hilarious looking.

That being said, even though these people have problems dealing with or attracting their opposites, it still doesn't justify legalizing same sex marriage.

Then you also have a group of people that want to take advantage of our tax system. They claim that same sex marriage should be legal for the purpose of claiming tax deductions. Because married couples pay less tax than singles. That is just plain stupid, selfish, and arrogant.

Also I have never had guys make passes at me, and thank goodness no one has, because I would've told them to fuck off. Lol.

At the time I drove a taxi (two summers in University) I was in good shape, not bad looking, fair haired, had and an English accent, and was exposed to a lot of people. I had passes made at me both by both sexes. This was over thirty years ago, well before the public acceptance of gay people. I also had passes made at me in by men in washrooms, and also when I used empty classes to study in when I needed quiet. They would quickly figure out I was not gay and would get embarrassed and hightail it out of there. I found it all very creepy. Like I said before, my opinions evolved over time, as did the general opinions of the rest of society. I have since had gay co-workers, gay friends, gay employees, and gay customers, the majority of which were just average people with different sexualities. I think you do a lot of speculating and need get more real world experience.

I think the problem is tribalism. For most of mankind's existence we existed in groups of 30 to 200 people. Good relationships within the group were essential to survival, as was distrust of those outside of the groups. This is reflected in the concept of Dunbar's number:

It sounds like you’re coming from a place of hate and a complete lack of empathy. As if gays being allowed to marry threatens you in some fashion. You can’t even answer basic questions and only offer answers that contradict your own reasoning.

Gays can’t procreate and therefore cannot be considered a family and unfit to marry, yet a male/female marriage can make a conscious choice to not have children, but that’s fine.

And it has nothing to do with hate. It has to do with the way things work. God created male and female. Ha ha ha ha. People can maintain relationships with about 150 people? What about people that can't maintain relationships with just about no one at all? I know a person who has a friendship relationship with about 3 or 4 people and that's it. And 3 of those people are relatives. All of her friends have abandoned her. This must have something to do with mental deficiencies.

Just curious, what is your background? I am white, late fifties, came to Canada from England as a teenager and most of my career has been in IT. Your ideas about what is normal were pretty common when I was young but I do not encounter them much these days.

I am not going to defend the government or Human Resources of companies or other institutions that institute politically correct policies. I can appreciate that it is difficult to navigate the current landscape but they could do much better. I agree with you that all people should separate their work life from their home life, but at the same time I do not think they should be ashamed. It does not bother me what other people do in the privacy of their homes (except for abuse) or who they marry. As a man who pays for sex I would not judge what other people do with their private parts.
