I too am in the same boat, and have heard many good things from LMT's with websites.

*thinks to herself* Now, where do I go to get one of those thingies...? LOL

Ditto that. Never spent a dime on advertising (so far) Every new client has either been a referral from an existing client, or they found me while surfing/searching the internet.

PremoMT, to answer your question, we built ours ourselves. Now, it helps to have your own web designing software (if you're in school, check any local hole-in-the-wall software retailers that might give decent discounts to students!) and it also helps to have friends who administer networks that can provide cheap hosting but those aren't absolutely necessary. GoDaddy has the cheapest rates on domain name registration, and their customer service is decent, too. Hope that helps

i do.. i use appointmentquest. works well for me because we're multiple therapists, but there's another thread on here about several other options. do a search for 'online booking'

I get TONS of business from my web site.

I had it professionally built and it looks professional and is informative. I am very *Royal* about my web site, I think I drive the web designer nuts sometimes, but she does an AWESOME job. Well worth the investment.

It's important not only to have a web site, but also for people to be able to find you/ your web site. If you have yours built, make sure that it gets submitted to search engines. So for example, when someone types in Google "massage in Kansas City (for example)", your site comes up on top. Mine usually comes up first or second.

I do not have an online scheduler, but I sell GC's online (not through Spa Boom)

I'm curious as to why some of you have websites, but don't add it as a signature line. This helps increase your online visibility.

Yes to the website, no to online booking, yes to online gift certificates. I offer gift certificates with a Paypal button on my website.

I don't include my web site for privacy reasons. A lot of times we post on this web site to vent or some discussions can be controversial (like my recent post about an underage couples' massage). I don't want the "characters" of these discussions to be easily identifyable.
