Appears to be a missing week in this thread so I would offer ; just before the
4th of July weekend another " sweep" took place. I would prefer to look at them as sweeps rather than raids.

Since the violence of 5 weeks ago the police are a non-presence in the Zona absent the fact that they may drive thru in strength when they are sure their uniforms will not get dirty .

This last sweep shut down the Zona ; Thursday , July 2nd for 2 1/2 hours and
involved Muni - Fed and Military. My take is they are cleaning out the rift-raft that they should have dealt with daily.

There were no Americans involved and was a pathethic attempt to clean up avery small area for the up coming 4th of July dollars. These people are not serious in any thing they set out to do ( opinion ) but the 4th was a successful weekend with many gringos enjoying themselves as a result of the attraction

Type "tijuana la zona norte" into your favorite Internet search engine. Do a bit of reading and research. You might even scan through a few of the threads on this forum. Then feel free to come back with your specific questions.

Or you could just walk across the border, hop in a cab, and say, "Take me to La Zona Norte." You'll learn faster that way, but it might wind up costing you more, especially when the taxi cab driver drops you off at Purple Rain instead of Adelita's.

First of all I wish I was there. I was on another site, when a friend of mine reported it by blackberry and then other friends filled me in. I did see a little of the aftermath when I witnessed two drunk locals push each other when a truck full of officers turned off Coahuila onto Rev, and then before you knew it they sealed the road off, handcuffed the two drunk guys and cameras started taking pics....This of course was overkill as no fight broke out, etc. This was around 11pm on that night.

I had many friends that were there...one even got handcuffed as he did not come out of a privado quickly enough, but he was released without incident.

If I post about something and I am not sure, I will be glad to let you know.

Fuck I wasn't present when JFK was shot, but I know it happened.

I have replied to S-ricos questions twice ; " Yes , I have a TV " ; such a question , given merrit , does suggest he watches and relies on 3rd party input way to much. There was no threat to anyone !

My wife of 12 years is present in her wholesale showroom from 10:00AM to 10:00PM and weekends from 10:00AM to 12:00AM . The showroom is on " the Alley " and in case you are not aware ( like numb-nut ) that is where the street girls are. Yes, it is akin to an adult Disneyland....

I did not read these posts until today, but I was down there yesterday (Monday) from about 6-9 pm. I went to Chicago and it was empty. Adelita's had close to its regular number of weekday, daytime chicas but I was wondering why there was so few mongers in the place. Now I know. I didn't ask anyone, nor did anyone mention that the above recently took place. I took one named Monica upstairs and she did not mention anything. I saw no additional presence of cops just the normal 2 hanging out at the front door.

the disturbing thing about this video, is that it shows several unsuspecting mongers doing their thing in the zona. that would be a heck of a way of getting busted!!! Ah, now we understand! Moral in the department was low and someone had the brilliant idea to raid La Zona. From the looks of this video, it evidently worked! It's too bad the U.S. police departments do not also have this invaluable tool.
