The difficulty with meeting Mexican women is not so much about them liking gringos (or about their desire to whiten their bloodline, as badbuy puts it) but in talking to them alone. Las Pulgas is on Revolucion Ave between 8th and 7th streets, same block Hotel Ticuan is at.
I never venture as far as 5 y 10 and La Mesa so I wouldn't know any clubs in that area.

I would say this ain't true. Two of the most beautiful Mexicanas I've ever seen don't have green or blue eyes. gringos will have a lot more luck in non-resort cities(guadalajara,mexico city,monterrey) than tourist towns. in my experience, a gringo that speaks spanish will have no problem striking up a conversation with locals in non resort areas because the mexicanos are more open to gringos. mexicanos are distant to gringos in resort areas because all their lives they see the rude, loud and crass gringo operate with a sense of entitlement and hit on their women with impunity.

and yes you are correct. it would be easier for a gringo to date a well-to-do mexican-american in the states than a well-to-do mexicana here in mexico. there is a stringent caste structure here among the mexican wealthy and gringos by and large are not welcomed(unless said gringo has a substantial net worth himself).

and it is also much easier for a gringo to pick up a lower-end mexicana here in mexico than a lower-end mexicana in the US. the US mexicana has opportunities to make a legitimate self-supporting income as opposed to here in mexico.
