I'm looking for nice short sleeved shirts (or polos) with a nice massage therapist logo, maybe one I can customize with a business name or my name.

I've found several resoucres, but I haven't found anything I truly like.

I want something that looks professional as I will be doing outcalls, so I don't think just a T-shirt is appropriate. I live in an affluent area, and looks can count. I also need something relatively inexpensive for the moment, as I'm on limited funds)

Jenn,You've already checked out the links that I like.  But, here's another suggestion.....If you find a shirt you like on some sale rack in a store, you can take it to a local place that can embroider it for you.  There's a local place by us and she has TONS of different logos to choose from.  I haven't checked, but I imagine she has one for massage, or at least something that would be appropriate for it.

I wear the shirts from Massage Warehouse. آ They have lasted a while and I like the logo.They tend to run small so if you do go with them keep that in mind.I looked into getting some custom shirts done and for now it is just too expensive for me.

Thanks for the links, I really appreciate it.  I have also been looking for something that is professional but unique to me.  I actually had the back of a sweatshirt embroidered so that I can wear it at work and be identified.  The T-shirt that I have to wear has my credentials on the back!  I couldn't believe it cost me $34 to get MASSAGE THERAPIST in 1 inch block letters on this shirt!  I really should have asked the price before the guy embroidered MY shirt, not one from their store.  I would look into silk screening.  IT will cost you about $30 for them to do the screen but they keep the template so it doesn't cost much for them to screen the shirts later.

Lands End Business Outfitters is the best we have found.Not only will they put your logo on ball caps, duffels and any item of clothing they make, they effectively have no minimum order because you can group related items to count as the same item - ie windbreaker, towel and duffel are the same fabric family

I thinik Land's End is also the best choice but might be a bit pricey if you're really on a budget.  I think you should see if you can find a local embroidery company.  We buy our shirts in bulk and have them separately embroidered.  Once they do it once, the die is always available.  If you're looking just for yourself, you might even have a few polos or could pick them up at retail (on sale hopefully).  Have you considered a plain polo and a logo pin?  There are companies that don't have minimums and might work better for you.  Good luck, Joe E.

i've been debating this same issue for awhile as well. i'm leaning towards purchasing the garment and having it embroidered locally to support a local small business.my question is:are sleeveless shirts professional? some companies offer sleeveless polos, etc.

The owner of the school I work at wears sleeveless shirts all the time. I, however, would never wear one. I have tattoos on my deltoids on both arms, and I feel that showing ink is unprofessional. Maybe if it were a 'soothing' or 'relaxing' tattoo, like a butterfly on the ankle or something (which I wouldn't do, lol), but when one is a Triskelion of Drinking Horns, and the other is a scorpion on fire, I don't think it would go over too well, hehehehe.

I had my logo put onto polo shirts my wife picked up.  The shirts cost 3/$10 and the application of logo, embroidery, 2 colors + some artwork cost the princely sum of $5.  There are probably a dozen little places in your town or near you, so call em up or stop in to see them.  I do wish the shirts were of better quailty, but my wife thought they were fine.  I guess they are ok.  To see my logo, go to http://stresssolutions.abmp.com  On the shirts I guess it is reversed?  They stitched the frame and bodies, but just the outline of the people, didn't fill it in.  Also, the shirts are green so they used grey and silver for the thread.   If you are anywhere near here, I recommend them.  KAY embroidery.    mick

Anyone have a resource for ordering shirts without logo so that you can do your own? I am remembering years ago a catalog that had I believe Hanes or Fruit of the Loom shirts of all kinds, they also had totes and aprons, other stuff too. Wish I could remember. Joe_E where do you buy your shirts in bulk?

I buy them through a local company that does printable merchandise.  They sell Fruit of the Loom shirts and every other manufacturer.  They usually can do the embroidery too but they seem to charge more than if you do it separately.  Most companies can do mugs, duffel bags, hats, etc.  They're local companies usually.  Just be sure to see samples of the actual shirts.  Many of these companies have catalogs but the quality of the shirts can't be shown in a photo.  We once ordered this way and the shirts were paper thin.  Get a sample in the size you wear and the color you want.  That way you'll know exactly what you're getting.  If it's for yourself and just want let's say 6 shirts, I'd even go to the local Walmart and look around.  Often they have great prices on these sort of shirts and then the embroidery can be done with a one time set up charge and then per piece for the embroidery.  A google or yahoo search should provide local providers.  Good luck.  Joe E.

I live in a very small town. There is one embroidery place I know  of and maybe one more.  We do have a Walmart though. I may have to go up there to look for polos. They don't carry them in the womens dept. so I have to get them in men, I'm hoping I will find decent colors there.

I searched google for polo shirts with embroidery and lots of results came up.  If you live in a small town, this might be an option for you.  I'd still ask for a sample shirt.  They may request that you pay for the sample in case it's not returned but that's another option.  Just shop it around and see who you're comfortable with.  Here's is the first option that came up.  They seem to do everything and with no minimums.  Of course, I don't know about this company but it can't hurt to get a quote.  Joe E.

Thank you everyone for your replies. You've given me lots to think about. I've thought about sleeveless too. I think in Florida it would be acceptable. I've seen many MTs in FL with sleeveless shirts. Although I wouldn't wear spagetti straps.  Jenn
