Retiring from Hobby

After 3 years of surveying the Markham area and spending thousands of $$ on the hobby, it's really time to go. My philosophy has always been (1) survey everything (2) narrow down to a few and (3) stick with your favs for extra extra high mileage and total GFE. But it has got to a point where you found the 2 or 3 gems, you became friends with them, you went out with them regularly and then all of the sudden, you realize that fantasies should not have been mixed with realities in the first place. The wake-up call actually came when I accidentally had sex with my fav during a session lately. Well, that's probably gone way way beyond the line......

Although I do honestly understand your point and wish you well, I would give my left nut to "accidentally" have sex with my favorite during a session!

This hobby only gets dangerous when the line between reality and fantasy is blurred to the point where you (as the client) cannot separate the two. I always try to tell myself that paying the $$ means that its only fun, no matter how much perceived chemistry or mutual attraction there might be.

Everyone knows (or has a good idea of) one's own limits. If I ever wanted to quit the hobby [and I personally think that to be an almost insurmountable task], I bet my strongest bouts with a relapse would occur everytime I pass by one of those little kiosks w/ the free NOW and EYE publications; everytime I had the urge to read any massageplanet.net reviews; or when I was in the vicinity of one of my regular haunts- all of which happen at numerous times every single day. And don't forget payday.

Very, very good move. One big mistake a lot of people do is get emotionally involved with a sex worker. Keep the fantasy in fantasy land and not reality. The phrase "looking for love in all the wrong places" applies.

I found myself in a simular position not too long ago...got back in the gym...prioritized things, and almost quit the mp, sp game entirely ( I have gone 2 times since July). Dating back in the real world has been great fun, and much more satisfying.

(1) Most of my fellow massageplanet.netites have made some good comments. I think my mistake was that after 1st year with the hobby, I got bored and decided to look for higher mileage and the most GFE as I could. And then of course, when you started dating MPAs and/or having heated sessions again and again with your favs, things got complicated. But I got to admit it was more fun than just go to a MP and pay for the service.

(2) Maybe I'll get back into the hobby after a while. But it's more important for me to get my mindset adjusted first.

(3) About how accidental sex happened.....well, when you are getting extra extra high mileage, you are getting into some heated DFK/DATY/body contacts with your fav. Then, when it's time to finish, your genitals get really close. normally, my fav would gently say no or adjust her position a bit. but then, this time around, none of that happened, so...you get the picture.

I know EXACTLY what he means. Last year, after seeing my fave MPA for about 6 months I began driving her to the subway st. after her shift (innocent enough). That led to me driving her home, lunch dates, and somehow that led to us dating. We dated for about 3 months and suddenly the novelty wore off. I realized that i had fulfilled every one of my fantasies with her and there was nothing else left to do. To make a long story short- i had to stop going to the MP that she worked at (it was a favourite of mine) and I learned fantasies are just fantasies and need to be left at that. amen.

This is really intriguing. Both Agent bone and Rockyroad described extreme high mileage (can't get anymore mileage than accidental sex) and true GFE (can't get anymore GFE than actually dating the MPA steadily) and yet both situations quickly led to retirement.

This hobby is super expensive. Unless you make more money per half hour or per hour than a MPA does, it (hobby) can't and won't be sustainable. So, retiring, temporarily or permanently, is natural. If and when I ever retire, it will never be due to " accidental sex "; it will be because my wallet is empty.
