the word 'ring' sticks out for me. the reporter isn't clear whether that's AP word or Blanco's. But if it's Blanco's, the Consolate is not thinking well of Sampson's business.



and their noting that he "...was wanted by U.S. authorities on child pornography." should give cover to the Mexicans to take their time.

that said, I applaud burt for emphasing that none of women were minors. honestly, this is great news and should get him off the hook for sex tourism, which if memory serves is defined as traveling abroad to have sex with minors.

Contrary to what feminist scholars might tell us, traveling abroad to exchange money for sex with adults is not sex tourism, not in US law, not yet at least.

Damn! Poor Sampson. That really sucks. The real problem here is that he would be much better off being charged in the US than in Mexico. The legal process there is very corrupt and politicized. Your only real hope is to buy your way out of trouble with well placed bribes. But, once you enter a court room you are screwed! He cannot expect a fair trial in Mexico- it will be a kangaroo court. Shit, in Mexico you are guilty until proven innocent.

The US Consulate press release is rather sketchy and seems to be putting the best face forward about the case on behalf of Sampson, if so that's nice to know the US Consulate is working for you, however the report leaves out any charges pending against Sampson, or that the Mexican police might be investigating, as it tried to only deal with the known facts so far.

The report from the poster on another site, from the Procuraduria Genenal de la Republica" may just be a lot of HOT AIR. I know of this poster, and he likes to deal in the dramatics, and tries to come off as more of an expert in Tijuana, and Mexico then I, Sampson or anyone else around here, if you can believe that?

We should take a wait and see attitude and see what the final charges against Sampson will be. as we don't even know where he is being held?

I would like to hear, fireballs, what you think is going on with local TJ politics and the governor's race. And I think your hunch about the communication lines is correct. I don't know what the facts are in Sampson's case, but I've noticed some chica agents using US telephone numbers and email addresses. one has to stop and think: Is my telephone and email address on US soil? If yes, then it's probably subject to US laws. I'm not sure if US authorities have any kind of jurisdiction over a web based email server in Germany, but I'm sure these US Attorneys thing they have it over servers in the US.

Another thing I've seen is such an agent saying that he has a chica under a contract that prohibits her from working anywhere else. unbelievable! He clearly doesn't understand the issues at play here. He needs to find those women, show them the contract, tear it up in front of them, and say, honey, I have been grossly ignorant of the realities and history of your situation. Here is the English version of the article that came out in the Frontera about Sampson. it seems they set up a sting operation that I warned about in another thread of this site. It seems Sampson brought 4 girls to the border to meet an undercover TJ cop looking for young girls, and one of those girls was slightly underage. Didn't we talk about this on this forum already, warning of the dangers. The article also talks about 'kiddie porn' and I flat out believe that's a lie, it certainly doesn't sound like the Sampson we know.

Some of these may very well be political based, as underage trafficking and sexual slavery is something that Ashcroft, and Gonzales love to talk about and how they are committed to stopping it, yet it really seems like they are interested in stopping any kind of porn, and prostitution. I certainly would not like to be in Sampson's shoes right now.

Sadly, it's true Sampson was busted by the TJ cops. The FBI connection is unclear. The reports saying the FBI is involved say it's because he used the Internet to promote prostitution. (Perhaps sex tourism charges will be filed if the FBI is involved.)

The timing smacks of politics. Remember how the federales recently took away the guns of the TJ cops. This, I think, is part of their response to show they are really doing their job.

It worries me to. The cops and local press are trying to make this into something big: an international prostitution ring. (And, remember, Jorge Hank just announced he's running for governor.)

I fear something like this:

The owner of VivaMexSpa posted on another site that Sampson was busted, and he wrote:

" I have it on relaible authority that Sampson is in jail and that he has problems with not only TJ's finest but the FBI. I hope this is not true, but I think it is. Sad.

Not sure what we can do to help him but I for one, will do whatever I can.'

It's a shame if Sampson was busted, I felt one day he was going to be busted, but only by the TJ police who might have been tipped off about Sampson by jealous rivals, competition from other sectors, like Padrotes, with connections to the major sex cartels, ex-escorts, or ex-wives with axes to grind, Mongers who hate GFE sex, or maybe an old Parole officer, if Sampson still had one?

If the FBI is involved it's a real shame, as I understand they might go after Sampson for possibly not paying income tax.
