I don't think there has been enough talk about Rock City What do you think about the place? I was ther last year in february with my family. Now I'm coming with fiends. We love rock'n'roll. Is there any other plae with rock'n'roll????

We are all into blues and rock'n'roll.1 I thought Saxophone was great also, although the drinks tasted like s**t!!!

in november a guy aproached us in front of rock city and wanted to sell tickets for a party at rock city... he said it's going to be a party for "normal" people and not for sextourists that hang around bangla road... we then politely declined and went on... on the night of the party we were having diner there and it seemed that all the farang chicks that were in patong at that time went to the party

Steve, there's nothing wrong with havin a change, from time to time.

I find the music in the sois, gets a bit monotonous after a few weeks straight.

It is worth pointing out........The night I went to RH, with Lew & accompanying BG's........The BG's had no interest whatsover in the music there.......They just sat there with a glum look on their faces.
I will head back there again, but without a BG in tow.

Its often a problem with bigger places, they dont find it important to reply to e-mails from normal customers. If you said you will bring inn a group of 25-30 people for a week around Songkran, Im sure they would reply pretty fast:erf:

I went to Rock City this December after seeing one of the trucks driving around that day advertising it. Only problem...after walking all the way down there it turns out it was a private party and they wouldn't let us in. I'm not sure why they had that stupid truck driving around if it was a private party. Never went back.

Excellent thread, as I was thinking about what places had music that was my taste. I like alternative rock, pop, with a dash of hip hop (not rap). Does anyplace rock the casbah in Patong...any music lovers out there with the same taste as me that could suggest 1-3 bars to head to that offer good music?....thanks !!

Sleazy owners/promoters/whoever he is. Every time I've gone there with visiting friends we always get the hard sell for one of their overpriced, drink all you can (for 2 hours), special nights - with Normal People for no extra charge!

My friends thought he was worse than anything they'd seen on Bangla.

Also there is a shitload of fights there.

Agreed it is pricey in there, the band has to be paid for.

Last time i was in there a porky falang girl threw her panties on seforum.xxxe, the guitarist picked them up, sniffed them and finished the set with them on his head 55555 Brilliant

if you`ve never been in before it`s worth a look. have always taken a bg in and they seemed to like the change from Tiger, Taipan etc

I like Rock City after the beach in the day at about 4pm, good spot for a beer and the food is great for a snack and good for people watching.

Not really my cup of tea at Night as I like some Rock Music but not played at a volume that gives you a head ache, then again though Club Lime is not my sort of music either, not really into the dance scene.

So each to his own but the place is nice, staff cute and friendly food good so maybe worth a look if you have not been there.

Yes, from memory he said it was 900 Baht for all you can drink for about 2 hours. Those 2 hours would have been early in the evening when the only people there are p1ssheads trying to down as much grog as they can to recoup their outlay.

It's next to a very good pizzeria. Pasta Fresca Ristorante.

Their trucks driving slowly around town holding up traffic and playing ear bleedng music means I will never give them my custom. these trucks really urinate me off. Same as the Mua Thai men- absolute pain in the sphincter and should be banned.

I've been there twice with my girlfriend. The first time we had a really good time as we haven't been anywhere with live music like that for quiet some time. We partied pretty hard and got trashed.

We went back the second time and the music and bands played exactly the same routine so we got bored pretty quickly. If they changed the bands up a little more it would be better.

And yes, the music is a little too loud for our liking!

How can you have quiet rock music????????

I've been a bunch of times, bands change quite reguarly, either that or I've just been lucky, I like rock City, nice change from Bangla and beer bars, like to start off in Saxophone bar for a little blues or jazz, like the sax shaped beer pots and the foods pretty good in there.

Recommend it to anyone not having gone before, good night, usually leave about midnight/ 1 pm, so still time to get few in down Bangla afterwards!!!
