Chat Why do SP's change their names?

The question has been posed before and just recently posed so I thought, rather than take that thread off the rails, I'd just start a discussion.

It's something I've always wondered. Like my fav- Lois (previously Rose) at XP. She established herself (I assume...) at XP as Rose; left for a while; came back as Lois. I would think SP's would gain a 'following' of clients and would prefer to keep their name so that she could have clients follow her to a new location. Do the establishments make them change their names? And take Amy- who I understand has "been around" and changed her name multiple times. Perhaps the new place doesn't want to be associated with the old place due to it's reputation?

I know some people will say these places are just all run by the Chinese Mob or something to launder money but still doesn't explain the constant name changing- not to mention the use of the same names. I can understand that a lot of Chinese names are difficult for Westerner's to pronounce and therefore girls pick a name that is easier to pronounce and remember- but why keep changing?

I think Cici /Amy/Sandra could shed insight if we asked her. Maybe they get less popular and are trying a rebrand or fresh start . Again Im speculating. I am curious as well. Dont fix what aint broke.

Joking aside, some of the name changes are designed to make it more difficult for a single search on any platform such as this one or CAF from dredging up all of the history. Sometimes, it is to prevent family members or ex-spa-managers from learning too much too soon. Then there are others like Amy that work at multiple shops simultaneously, so it helps them keep things sorted out. Also for therapists who have their active RMT status, and can write legit receipts, but they work at more than one shop, it helps create more dissociation from their real receipt writing names.

Wait…..she is Sandra now??? (Or did she start as Sandra, move to Amy, and now is Cici?)

I actively try to avoid places with too many ladies, with too many name changes. I have a tough enough time remembering my own fucking name, let alone the provider’s name. (Or where I parked my truck…..car???…FUCK)

I've talked with a few ladies about this over the years, almost all of them hate being reviewed, especially about what happens at the end of the massage. Changing their name helps them stay more anonymous, one lady I know will even move to a different location and change her name if she starts getting too many reviews.

In other cases they might change their name if they start to get a bad reputation (ie Amy) and guys stop seeing them.

According to a recent conversation with a lady, she said she didn't want her ex-colleagues to know where she went; she wiped off all their contacts and changed her name.

Total speculation here with nothing to back it up, but I wonder if the name changes also have something to do with the fact that many of the girls in this industry are not exactly working 'aboveboard'. Even if they're here legally, it's almost always a cash-under-the table job without the usual taxes being paid. Probably don't want to make it too easy to create an overlong paper trail of where or how long you've been working when the inevitable audits show up on the businesses... and you just know they are probably an easy target.

I've got Chinese friends young and old, male and female, that don't do massage (but I fantasize about accidental meetups in a rub&tug with a few cuties). Some change their western handle or have a few. Most have a few social media personas too. I've just come to think of it as a humour thing. Don't know how much that applies to massage though. Seems that 100% legit RMT in a legit place uses her real full name, no handles, but then again some full real name RMTs have limited options available on the QT.
